Youth Workers are educators who work on personal, social, emotional and political issues. Their work/program is designed around this way of learning that is incorporated and concealed in the program. Youth Workers’ service is delivered as part of the College’s education psycho-social team’s service. They render services to their College’s respective schools mainly the middle and the senior schools of their College. Youth workers work with students through non-formal and informal education mainly through project-based practices. Services are given through a constant collaboration with the Learning Support Zones, SMTs, guidance teachers and subject teachers. Youth workers’ expertise is directed towards behavioural programmes, skills enhancement programmes, social and emotional literacy amongst others. These sessions are carried out through group or individual sessions. Any professional who notices students’ needs, is encouraged to refer students who would benefit from the Youth Worker’s service.
