The National School Support Services (NSSS) was established in 2009, following recommendations from the Inclusive and Special Education Review (MEDE, 2005). In alignment with the Malta National Education Strategy 2024 – 2030, NSSS underwent a restructuring that led to the creation of two distinct Directorates, one of which is the Wellbeing Services Directorate. This Directorate is dedicated to supporting students, young people, and their families through a comprehensive range of psycho-social services. These services include counselling, psychotherapy, Child Safety Services, an Anti-Bullying Team, an Anti-Substance Abuse Team, and Unit Ghozza.
