Guidance teachers provide personal and group guidance and helping skills to students and their parents/guardians. They endeavour to foster growth in the students’ self-esteem, individual responsibility, decision-taking, problem-solving and social skills, with respect to intra- and inter-personal issues, behavioural and truancy problems. They provide also curricular guidance, including subject options, and choice of courses. They provide information through various activities/materials/seminars both at school and college level about post-secondary courses and institutions.
